- Born in the Murray Mallee region of South Australia, Fiona’s first memory of art was when she was given her first set of paints and the delight that came with that. Unfortunately they were too precious to use too often and so the memory also includes a vivid image of them dried up in their glass jars at great disappointment!
- Her first encounter with Art School was as a Design Student at the then Underdale Uni SA and she can still visualise the image of looking into the Art School studio with intrigue.
- Studying life, still life drawing subjects and art history was part of her design course from which she graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor in Interior Design and as the Alumni and annual scholarship recipient.
- From graduating design school Fiona honed her design skills for 10 years in the design industry, working in Melbourne, Canberra and Adelaide.
- From that foundation Fiona has relished the freedom, creativity and curiosity that comes with being a self-taught artist. She continues to build her studio practise and discipline and has dived into enjoying creating larger works.
- She currently lives and works from her studio in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia.
