ARTIST BIO

Hi, I'm an artist based in the beautiful Barossa Valley of South Australia. I studied Visual Arts at the University of South Australia, with a focus on jewellery design and printmaking, and later went on to complete a Bachelor of Education.

My passion for art extends beyond my own practice, and I'm committed to sharing the joy of creativity with young people. I have previously been Vice President of the Visual Arts Teachers of SA Association, where I've been privileged to work with arts practitioners and engage our young people in the Visual Arts. I've been lucky enough to work as an art teacher in the Barossa Valley for the past 16 years, and through my work in schools, I've had the opportunity to create student exhibitions at the Barossa Regional Gallery and community murals.

Over the years, I've been involved in multiple group and solo exhibitions, including the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival, and my work has also been part of the Barossa Vintage Festival Art Prize.

I'm currently a member of the Barossa Art Gallery and Gifts Collective based in Angaston, which regularly hosts pop-up markets at the Botanic Gardens in Adelaide. One of my favourite mediums to work with is lino printing, and I enjoy the sometimes-tedious process of design, drawing carving and printing. I love creating large-scale pieces that are printed in small editions with every artwork unique. I'm also excited to be exploring scratch board as a new medium, which allows me to work within the limited palette of black and white while developing a style more associated with drawing.
